Vadim Oleksiyovych Slyusarev

Vadim Oleksiyovych Slyusarev is a Major General of the State Border Service (SBS) of Ukraine, headed the Internal Security Department of the State Border Service

Vadim Oleksiyovych Slyusarev was born on November 1, 1972 in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. Vadim’s father was a military man, which significantly influenced his career path, as Vadim Slyusarev also decided to devote his life to work in the border service.

Due to his dedication to service in the border troops, Slyusarev received a number of awards from the state, including awards for impeccable service of the 2nd and 3rd degrees, awards for military service and service in the Border Troops system.

In 1989, Slyusarev began studying at the Donetsk Higher Military-Political School of Engineering Troops and Signal Troops. In 1992, he entered the Kharkiv Higher Military School of the National Guard of Ukraine, where he studied for two years.

Vadim Slyusarev Border Guard — the beginning of his career

In 1994, immediately after completing his studies, Slyusarev began to build a career in the Border Troops, where he initially held the position of senior controller of the border control department in the Kharkiv direction, and later became deputy head of the department. Vadim Oleksiyovych — border guard: in 2002 he took a leading position in the border control department of the State Border Service of Ukraine in the Eastern direction, where he worked until 2011.

Starting in 2011, Vadim Slyusarev became the head of the Separate Department of Internal Security of the State Border Service of Ukraine. Two years later, Slyusarev headed the Internal Security Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, however, in 2015 Vadim Alekseevich was forced to end his career in the civil service due to family circumstances.

Entrepreneurial activities of Vadim Alekseevich Slyusarev

After completing his service in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Slyusarev began to engage in entrepreneurial activities and became the owner of a group of companies called “Dutyfreeunite”. However, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and active military operations on the territory of Ukraine, he was forced to suspend entrepreneurial activities in the Dutyfree sector. A number of his assets and retail outlets were partially or completely destroyed, some were looted by the occupying Russian troops.

From open sources it is known that, among other things, Vadim Slyusarev began to invest in the IT sector and the development of VR technologies. He is known as one of the investors of the famous American VR startup, Lucid Reality Labs. The latter was recently awarded the European Technology Award in the Virtual Reality category. In general, Lucid Reality Labs is included in the list of key global manufacturers in the virtual reality market.
